Cornwall Wedding // Katie & Tim
A defining and often emotional aspect of a wedding day is the coming together of friends and family, all in one place, very often for the first time in years. The long journeys undertaken to be there, to be by the couple’s side, sometimes make us feel like the world isn’t really that big! This was one of those days, with friends and family travelling from all over the world, from Singapore (where Katie and Tim both currently live) to New York, Paris and including most corners of our little island; London, Wales, the Midlands and Scotland to name a few. Thousands of miles and hours of travelling, all converging on the beautiful coastal town of Padstow in Cornwall, Katie’s home town, for an unforgettable day of Celtic Cornishness.
This was one of the most diverse weddings we’ve photographed. It had everything...a youth hostel, Padstow pubs, an Elizabethan country house, an intimate woodland wedding service, a marquee wedding reception by the sea at Treyarnon Bay, a London bus, a Cornish folk band and an incredible evening band fronted by one of the groomsmen no less. Oh and lots and lots of walking through the stunning Cornish landscape. A double decker London bus can only go so far on the narrow winding Cornish roads, so on the way back from the service we all got on our feet and cascaded down to the bay with breathtaking views. It was amazing to photograph!
After a short stroll along the cliff edges of the bay with Katie and Tim, we headed back to the party. As the sun came down over the bay, the party really kicked off and these guys knew how to party hard. It was a real celebration of friends and family coming together. An unforgettable day!
